Deliberate and Afraid of Nothing: Diversifying Women’s Representation

In this talk, Dr. Ariana A. Curtis, curator for Latinx Studies at the National Museum of African American History and Culture, will discuss diversity and the public presentation of women in museums.

Representation matters. The Smithsonian American Women’s History Initiative is not only changing how millions of people understand women’s history but also how museum curators present it. In this talk, Dr. Ariana A. Curtis, curator for Latinx Studies at the National Museum of African American History and Culture, will discuss diversity and the public presentation of women. The Rhode Island Historical Society is partnering with CCRI to bring you this program and it is made possible through our Smithsonian Affiliation.
