Senator Erin Lynch Prata will sit for Portrait painter Kelly McCullough as part of the Abiding Courage Exhibition.
Artists have always played an important role in the fostering of civic engagement. Acting as both chroniclers of historic events and drivers of change, artists help us to see the world through a different lens. Keeping with this tradition, The Warwick Center for the Arts would like to invite you to a very special event as part of our Abiding Courage Exhibition. Classically trained portrait painter Kelly McCullough will join us for a portrait painting demonstration, with Senator Erin Lynch Prata as her model. Kelly has studied oil painting in both the United States and Italy, including the famed Charles H. Cecil Studios in Florence, where she studied portrait painting in the style of the European masters. Kelly’s work is currently on exhibit at the Providence Art Club. Senator Erin Lynch Prata (District 31, Warwick, Cranston) was born and raised in Warwick, RI and has been a member of our State Senate since 2008. She is a supporter of the arts and of our community at WCFA.
Registration is now open on-line. Click here for the registration form. We welcome you to bring your sketchbook and draw along with the demonstration. Please bring only a ‘lap size’ set up as space may be limited. Your registration fees will directly support our educational programs with local schools. Register early!
